Background as to why:

The Financial Services Industry has very strict expectations with respect to information advisors must collect and keep up-to-date. Securities regulators require that we gather very specific information regarding your current financial picture, along with ensuring that the investments we recommend corresponds with your risk tolerance level and investment objectives.

Consequently, we have been contacting all of our clients in order to update the Know Your Client (KYC) form. We have developed this form so you will have a better idea of the types of information we will need to obtain from you. We look forward to speaking with you soon.

  • Number of Dependents: (we always like to know if there has been a new addition to your family so we can address any financial planning needs regarding this including setting up RESP’s, completing and updating your insurance needs analysis & so on)
  • Annual Income (Approximate):
  • Total Liquid Assets (Approximate): (This would include, cash on hand, in your bank, your open/non-registered portfolio, GIC’s etc.)
  • Total Fixed Assets (Approximate): (This would of your home, car, the value of your RRSP’s (we will provide you with that information), other property
  • Total Liabilities (Approximate): (This is the money you owe; the outstanding balances on your mortgage, loans, personal line of credit and so on.)
  • Are these liabilities insured?
  • We will also be reviewing with you; the time frame for your current investments, the objective for those investments and, we want to be sure that your risk tolerance level continues to correspond with the investments you have inside your portfolio(s).
  • We would also like to remind you that whenever anything changes in your life that would have an impact on your Financial Plan, like; getting married, having a baby, thinking of a career change, inheritance, health concerns or issues, we would like you to contact us as soon as possible so we can address this with you.
