Making Dreams a Reality and SWITCH

SWITCH member Betty-Anne Howard and her team at Making Dreams A Reality Financial Services (Independent Planning Group Inc.) have put together a benefit offering for SWITCH businesses.

The SWITCH Survey

As you may be aware, a survey was completed last year, with the following results reported by respondents:

  • 59% have no strategy to deal with income loss
  • 59% have no strategy to deal with sudden illness
  • 41% have no strategy to deal with retirement
  • 78% have no pension plan
  • 67% have no health plan

The SWITCH Benefit Offering

Based on these results and discussions with SWITCH members, and SWITCH Board of Directors, it became apparent that there is a real need for individual and employer based protection to deal with retirement, income loss and health concerns.

Betty-Anne determined that a way to address this need would be to combine the buying power of our membership while also benefiting SWITCH* as an organization by offering an Association Plan to SWITCH Members.

Here are some aspects regarding the SWITCH benefit offering;

  1. Joining is optional for SWITCH members
  2. The more companies that join the greater the advantage for our SWITCH Association.
  3. Each employer would choose their own options based on their own needs and budget.
  4. Each employer’s plan would operate and run independently.

Based on the survey results, the areas of coverage that Betty-Anne focused on are:

  • Life insurance
  • Critical Illness
  • Disability
  • Extended Health Care
  • Dental Care
  • Small Group RRSP
  • Health Care Spending Accounts

Plan details for the SWITCH member businesses can be customized or we can roll over existing benefit plans into the SWITCH Plan.

*Approximately 1% of premiums paid, will go to SWITCH.
