Background: In our efforts to meet our objectives and comply with the values and standards we set for ourselves, working diligently with our partners in order to achieve this end for both our business and our clients is imperative.

The financial crises and meltdown in 2008/2009 was devastating.

I personally do not want to see that happen again and feel the only way to move forward with that dream is to embrace an agenda & work with companies that incorporate & address; environmental, social & corporate governance (ESG) issues. As Remy Briand, who is the managing director global head of index and applied research at MSCI stated recently; we need to “rise to the challenge of bringing the benefits of sustainable investing to all portfolios and not just some: embed ESG thinking into day-to-day investment processes, consider environmental and societal factors to manage investment risk.” I would add; in order to manage ALL types of business risk.

Looking to 2011: We will continue to endeavor to work with our investment & business partners to realize; “profits with principles” & to building a more sustainable future.
